DCC 2025 Working Summit
From March 4-6, 2025, democracy advocates, communicators, and organizers from across the country will gather in Washington, DC for the DCC 2025 Working Summit—a pivotal event designed to enhance coalition efforts in defending and promoting democratic values.
Building on the success of last year’s summit, which solidified the DCC community as a powerful force for coordinated action, this year’s gathering will focus on strategic communication, research, rapid response, and messaging coordination. With a full house expected and an even larger venue, the event will underscore the urgency and commitment of pro-democracy organizations to combat disinformation, engage key audiences, and prepare for the challenges ahead.
Unlike traditional conferences, the DCC Working Summit will emphasize action-oriented collaboration. Participants will engage in scenario planning, hands-on coordination sessions, and strategic discussions aimed at countering anti-democratic narratives, strengthening public trust in elections, and amplifying pro-democracy messaging.
Key focus areas will include:
Priority audience engagement – identifying effective ways to communicate with communities most impacted by democratic backsliding.
Research and messaging coordination – ensuring that coalition partners are aligned in their outreach efforts.
Rapid response preparedness – strengthening the ability to counter disinformation and misinformation effectively in real time.
With the next four years presenting formidable challenges, communication is democracy’s most crucial tool. In an era where traditional media outlets struggle to hold anti-democratic actors accountable and social media platforms prioritize profit over integrity, pro-democracy coalitions must step up to fill the void.
